Costa Mesa, CA (September 23, 2013): Rip Curl, The Ultimate Surfing Company, is excited to announce a renewed, multi-year partnership with one of surfing’s most inspirational ambassadors, Bethany Hamilton.
The relationship between Bethany and Rip Curl extends well over a decade and has seen collaboration around WCT wildcards (Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach), Search trips, a Hollywood feature film (SOUL SURFER), and many other exciting projects. The plan is for the good times to continue to roll.
“I like the adventure in Rip Curl and the idea of ‘Living The Search’. And of course I don’t mind their cute bikinis, clothes and wetsuits!” Bethany recently stated. “It’s been an awesome relationship since I was 10 years old…”
For Rip Curl, the feeling couldn’t be more mutual. “I’ve had the pleasure of watching Bethany develop from a very young age into one of the most well-rounded female surfers in the world. Now at the age of 23, Bethany’s plans for the future are grounded in what she loves to do most – surf. “My plan is to keep improving my surfing, to keep Living The Search, and go surf some new waves around the world,” Bethany stated. “I also still love competing and plan on surfing in a few select events!”
Additionally, Bethany and her longtime friend/Rip Curl team-mate Alana Blanchard will be hosting their first annual “Bethany and Alana Keiki Classic” this October 19 at their homebreak of Hanalei, Kauai. This will be a free event for kids 16 and under.
Shortly after that, she will be heading to the East Coast of Australia, November 12-17, for the Rip Curl My Bikini Tour, which will see her as well as Rip Curl team-mates Alana Blanchard, Tyler Wright, and Nikki Van Dijk welcome people of all ages to get active and surf their way into the Australian summer.
