San Diego, CA- Thursday, September 30th, 2010 @ 7pm- One in six children that die in Papua New Guinea will die of water-borne or sanitary related illnesses. Residents using the beach as their toilet unwittingly add to the cause of these deaths, but lack the education to bring about change.
Walu International is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the sanitary conditions in developing countries’ coastal communities.
Walu International is hosting their 2nd Annual Fundraiser in association with Emerald City’s grand re-opening party downtown San Diego at the W Hotel.
Walu International’s goal is to raise $75,000 to educate people in the remote villages of Papua New Guinea about sanitation and put an end to these preventable diseases. The fundraiser will feature live auction, silent auction, live music, DJ’s, and drink specials. Walu International will also be premiering their documentary film “Where’s Walu?” in front of the 400+ people attendance.
