Everybody from my family, to my teachers and my friends, would tell me I would end up working at “Burger King” being a worthless pill. I remember I would tell them that surfing was my passion and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. So to all the people that didn’t believe in me, it’s all good babe baby. “Love the life you live! Live the life you love!” I love reggae! Living on the island of Puerto Rico, I feel connected to this music — especially “Midnite”. They’re from the Caribbean as well. The lyrics in this song are so powerful – it’s everything in life. If you live like this, you’ll be happy forever. I love girls! Especially Puerto Rican ones. This song reminds me of being in the club with all the boys hitting on and dancing with all the prettiest girls. The lyrics in the song are so classic. “No quiere novio quiere vacilar namas, no quiere a nadie que le deciendole na, ningun bobo que le vega hablando pendeja.” It means she doesn’t want a boyfriend; she just wants to have fun. She doesn’t need anybody telling her what to do, especially no kooks to talk shit to her. Ha! More than anything, I love this song because these guys are Puerto Rican. He’s like the Snoop Dogg of PR and he lives right next to me. I always see him at the corner bar near my house. We’ve shared some beers and had some good laughs. He’s an all around legend.
This song is just strait up gangster. When you listen to this song, you feel like one. I be bumping this shit as high as the bass goes in my car feeling like a G.
Bob is the legend of legends! His music is timeless. I believe his music will never die. My kids are going to listen to him and their kids are going to listen to him to. What kind of person would I be if I didn’t put Bob in my top five? “Waiting in vain” is my all time favorite. I would like to dedicate this song to the girl of my dreams – the one.
