Arthur Bourbon is French, but not from France.
He’s from Guadeloupe, an insular region of France located in the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean. Guadeloupe has good waves but no exposure to the surfing world, so when Arthur was a teenager, he decided to move to his island’s motherland and chase the dream of becoming a professional surfer.
I don’t know how well his career has panned out thus far, but boy does this guy get some tube time! Living in France means there are lots of variables to look at (wind, swell, tide, sandbars, etc.), but Arthur seems to have mastered the search, always positioning himself in the right place at the right time to find perfect cylinders with no one in sight. Except his close friends, of course.
