After some amazing upsets and surprise winners on the Gold Coast, the 2016 WSL Championship Tour season is underway. We now make our way down to the chilly waters of Bells Beach and (potentially) the surrounding breaks of the region. Bells proper and Winkipop are the two spots that are most likely to host this event.

WHO: The WSL Men’s Top 34 + 2 Wildcards & The WSL Women’s Top 17 + 1 Wildcard

WHAT: The second event of the 2016 WSL Championship Tour season

WHEN: Waiting period begins March 24 and runs until April 5

WHERE: Torquay, Victoria, Australia

INJURIES: As of today (March 22, USA / March 23, AUS) Bede Durbidge (pelvis), Owen Wright (concussion), Alejo Muniz (knee), Filipe Toledo (groin), and Jack Freestone (undisclosed) have withdrawn from the Rip Curl Pro. They have been replaced in the draw by Adam Melling, Stu Kennedy, Sebastian Zietz, Dusty Payne and Mason Ho. The two mens wildcards are Tim Brisso and Tim Stevenson. On the women’s side of the draw, Lakey Peterson has withdrawn from the event (ankle). Her injury replacement is Bronte Macauley. The women’s wildcard is Brisa Hennessey. All of the above-mentioned replacement surfers and wildcards are now available for trading at FantasySurfer.com.
