Subaru Pro TSB Bank Women’s Surf Festival ON at 9.00am at Back Beach

TARANAKI, New Plymouth/New Zealand (Thursday, April 28, 2011) - The Subaru Pro TSB Bank Women's Surf Festival, the third stop on the 2011 ASP Women's World Title season, has been called ON this morning in contestable half-meter waves at the event's back up site of Back Beach this morning.

"There are waist high waves on offer at Back Beach this morning and with the forecast looking less than optimal, we've decided to get underway with Round 1 to put us in a better position for the rest of the week," Dave Shipley, ASP Head Judge said.

ASP World Tour rookie Tyler Wright, 17, (AUS) will take on former ASP World Champion Chelsea Hedges, 27, (AUS) and local surfer Paige Hareb, 20 (NZL) in the first heat of Round 1.
