Hawaiian Surfing Reserves Bill Dead

We’ve been following the Hawaiian Surfing Reserve bill for a while now, and needless to say, we were pretty damn surprised when it was shot down last week. To give you the quick rundown, Hawaiian Senator Fred Hemmings—Hawaiian-surfing-legend-turned-organized-professional-surfing-founder-turned-politician—drafted a bill to the state to designate the areas of Waikiki and the North Shore as Hawaiian Surfing Reserves. But if you prefer your politics YouTube style, check out the video below. We’re working on a full story so stay tuned.
