A Call to Arms: Support the San Diego City Council’s Vote to Ban the Trestles Toll Road NOW!

If you live in the San Diego area and are interested in opposing the proposed 241 Foothill-South toll road extension, The Surfrider Foundation is calling for your help. On Tuesday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m., the San Diego City Council will be voting on a resolution to oppose the construction of the toll road extension that currently threatens to adversely affect the wave quality at Trestles and impact the wild life and natural habitats in San Onofre State Park.

The Surfrider Foundation strongly suspects that the TCA (Transit Corridor Agency) will have several representatives present at the vote tomorrow in order to convince the San Diego City Council to not endorse the resolution. In reaction to this, Surfrider is asking for as much representation as possible from those who are opposed to the Toll Road in order to offset the TCA's presence. If you are interested in attending, the time and location of the meeting is listed below. If you are interested in not only attending, but also providing transportation for others, please contact Surfrider representative Matt McClain at (949) 228-1171. If you need a ride from the Orange County area, please email info@surfrider.org before the end of today.

If you can't make it to the meeting, or don't live in the San Diego area, but still wish to support a vote that would oppose the Toll Road, please visit Surfridersd.org to find out how you can easily fax, email or call the San Diego City council in order to make your opinion heard.
