This is What It Was Like On the Beach During the Historic Eddie Aikau Invitational
The 10th Annual Eddie Aikau Big-Wave Invitational might’ve wrapped up over a week ago, but new footage (from filmers, spectators, and the surfers themselves) keeps dropping all over the Internet. And for that, we are thankful and still thoroughly entertained.
In the new edit above from Summer Street, we get a behind-the-scenes look at what it was like to be on the beach watching the event unfold. With thousands of fans on the shoreline, an all-time swell washing into the crowd repeatedly, and jet skis getting beached, the scene was hectic and chaotic (and probably a good amount of frustrating for lifeguards), but it no doubt a day to remember in big-wave surfing.
