VANS x YO GABBA GABBA! SHOE COLLECTION IN STORES FOR HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING
Show Creators Debut Series of Yo Gabba Gabba! Shorts Found at Vans.com/YoGabbaGabba
Cypress, CA (November 4, 2010) – The colorful cast of Yo Gabba Gabba! makes their Vans sneaker debut at better shoe stores worldwide as well as by visiting vans.com shop, as shoes begin shipping this week. Available in time for holiday gifting, the shoes come in Vans’ popular Classic Slip-On and Sk8-Hi Deconstruct styles for boys, girls (sizes 10.5 through 4) and toddlers (sizes 4-10). The collection includes eight different versions, with each character represented on their own shoe as well as two versions of a Yo Gabba Gabba! group shoe in the high top and slip-on. Toddler MSRPs are $32 for the Classic Slip-On and $37 for the Sk8-Hi Deconstruct, while Kids sizing are priced at $40 and $45, respectively.
Also, Vans, The Magic Store and W!ldbrain are excited to announce that, due to numerous requests from fans around the world, Yo Gabba Gabba! character group Slip-On shoes will be available in adult sizes in March. Learn more about the Vans x Yo Gabba Gabba! collection at www.vans.com/yogabbagabba.
In support of the collection, Yo Gabba Gabba! co-creator Christian Jacobs has teamed up with fellow director Jason Devilliers and producer Nate Rogers to create a series of five original shorts highlighting each of the Gabba Land characters. Each draws inspiration from the worlds of action sports and music:
Muno – Muno explores the streets of Los Angeles via skateboard a la iconic segments from the Bones Brigade Video Show. The short features the same music, “Nite Cruiser 2” by the Dragons, from the legendary part in the video.
Plex – paying homage to Devo’s “Freedom of Choice” video that included skate pioneers Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta among others, Plex takes to the Vans Skatepark combi bowl with pro skaters Bucky Lasek and Christian Hosoi. Features “Freedom of Choice” by Devo.
Foofa – Foofa impresses pro BMXers Alistair Whitton and Coco Zurita in this send-off of the seminal BMX movie Rad. Features “Send Me an Angel” by Real Life.
Brobee – Brobee pushes freestyle motocross to its limits as pro FMX riders Ryan Villopoto and Dean Wilson look on. Music by Yo Gabba Gabba ! song writer Adam Deibert with the song ‘Keep Trying, Don’t Give up’ from the show.
Toodee – Toodee hangs ten with fellow soul surfers and pro longboarders Alex Knost and Jared Mel. Features “Just Ain’t Me'” by Tommy Guerrero.
All spots were Directed by Christian Jacobs and Jason Devilliers and produced under the Magic Store’s watchful eye by Nate Rogers with lots of rad camera help by L.A. Super Team Ross Harris and Joel Fox.
Yo Gabba Gabba! premiered in the United States on Nickelodeon in August 2007 and quickly became a global phenomenon. One of the most popular series on television with a broad appeal among preschoolers, parents, teens and adults, the show infuses retro-style and beat-driven music to teach simple life lessons through music. The series and the live show star DJ Lance Rock and a cast of colorful characters, including Brobee, the little green one, Foofa, the pink flower bubble, Muno, the red Cyclops, Toodee, the blue cat-dragon and Plex, the yellow robot.
