During the Southern California fires, one of Shannon McIntyre’s commissioned original paintings went up in flames. She also watched her childhood home nearly burn down in Santee. Despite her overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and remorse while watching the ash cascade over her Sunset Cliffs studio, she’s hoping her art will lend a helping hand. During the fires, McIntyre painted a dark, surreal image of Sunset Cliffs’ horizon, entitled “Ash Sunday.” Archival prints of the painting are available for $20 through her website click here and local surf shops. All proceeds go to the San Diego Red Cross Fire Relief Fund and the Salvation Army Wild Fire Relief Fund.
