Nineteen-year-old Vasco Ribeiro (PRT) has won the Allianz ASP World Junior Championships in pumping
3-4ft Ericeira. Today marks the first time a Portuguese surfer has ever won a World Junior Title. To top it off, he pulled it off in front of his home crowd. Collecting a couple 9-point rides, Ribeiro's performance peaked in the final. It's the "best day of my life," Vasco claimed. "I have no words to describe this moment, I just want to thank everyone who's been supporting me." Komunity Project's CEO Paul Munten was thrilled to hear the news. "Vasco has always let his surfing do the talking. He's a quiet-natured guy, has a great work ethic and the result is well-deserved. On behalf of myself and the rest of the Komunity Project crew, we're stoked to support Vasco as he sets his sights for the World Tour." Vasco currently has a signature pad in the works, ready to be released in early 2015.
