On most competition lay days, ‘CTers typically pass time communally mastering kendama, knitting Christmas sweaters, playing Red Rover, Red Rover or singing kumbaya whilst burning frankincense and sitting cross-legged in oil-slickened massage circles. But not in France. While the world’s best have been waiting on a forecasted 8- to 10-foot swell to resume competition, there has been no shortage of fun-sized surf in the l’eau.
